In the syslog data collected at Dartmouth College, we anonymize the MAC addresses and the AP hostnames. While IP addresses are often present in the syslog data, this same field may be populated with a DDNS hostname if a user has configured their device to do so. We universally remove this field, whether it contains a DDNS hostname or an IP address.
